I’m 35 years old and will be eating Maine lobster for the first time at a 4th of July gathering this weekend and I’m afraid I’m gonna fuck up somehow and look dumb because I don’t know how to eat it or crack the shell or the proper butter ratio and all that shit. I’ve already confessed my lobster virginity to my friends though and they promised to teach me the ways. But still a little embarrassing.

Hell, for a minute I was even worried that since I’ve never had lobster before that I could potentially be allergic to it and not realize it. But then I remembered I have destroyed plates of lobster ravioli and lobster rolls at wedding receptions and it was nbd so I should be fine.

I remain a lobster virgin.

After I arrived at my friend’s house (a three hour drive) I was there for two hours or so before they got a call that someone who was at their house the previous week tested positive for COVID. So the entire weekend’s events were cancelled. My friends are getting tested tomorrow. If they both come back negative then I should be fine. But if one tests positive then I, in turn, will have to go get tested. Pretty shit 4th of July it turned out to be. We still shot off fireworks from the drive way though so that was nice.

Really still dislike current job. Wish I had stayed in Washington instead of moving back to Iowa because of dislike of current job. Wild how just this 1 thing is so important.

Don't have a ton of motivation to apply to new jobs because I feel so burnt out by current job. Also barely even try at current job which is not a good feeling either
