nobody actually likes their job right?
nobody actually likes their job right?
I've liked my jobs in the past or at least been able to tolerate them
sounds nice
I'm still in the honeymoon period with my new job, but it's so much easier and much less stress compared to previously. I'm in a much better mood now than I was.
I felt similar to you punk.
Try to look for something new anyway. Never know what you might stumble on when searching.
i've been looking a little, the whole applying process is so streneous though and i never hear back from the places i'm familiar with![]()
i got to the final stages of interviews with riot games when i was younger, still wonder where i'd be if i landed that.
the bro culture probably would have been balls and they seemed hugely disorganized during the interview process
they legit had 6 rounds of interviews, i've worked for 2 fortune 100 companies since then and they had 3 at the most..
wonder how gaming culture is to work in
Best bet is trying to reach out to contacts you've made through the years rather than go through job apps.
I love my job but don't like the commute which is typically about 50min.
My jobs are usually pretty good. Hours are kinda long by normie standard but short by tv production standards. Often the commute is 45 mins+ each way tho.
Well, you can at least take trains.
Sometimes, but not always. I've never been able to take the train efficiently.
Would more than double my commute.
Damn RIP. same here
I'm staying at my job because 1) it's an 8 minute commute 2) pays decent enough 3) 24 days of PTO a year 4) working independently is my jam - I hate team projects.
Still miserable though partly because pandemic (been bitching plenty here about it) and it's a mind numbing Sisyphean grind.
The greatest time I’ve ever had in my career is when I still worked SVU cases and was in Afghanistan. I’ve struggled to come to terms that I will never reach those adrenaline highs ever again and going back is clearly not safe or healthy for my psyche.
I’m on my first week out of the DoD with the OIG for the DC government and the first impressions of some of my new subordinates are not great bob.
