Got an email a couple of days ago that the murderer of a toddler was being released from jail early. Ultimately made a plea deal to involuntary manslaughter because the victim’s family witnesses were illegal immigrants so the defense injected mad nonsense.

It was my very first case as an Army CID Agent and it has been killing me every day for the past 10+ years wondering what I could’ve done to make the case more bulletproof for prosecution when I visited him at the hospital before his death.

My son is the same age now when this asshole killed the kid.

so, giving this the bg confessional treatment it deserves, that's rough. idk what i could possibly say re: beating yourself up that you haven't heard before. but it sounds like the defense played on racial bigotry in the jury, which isn't something you can do jack shit about.

tbh that kind of shit intimidates the hell outta me. when i finish school, one of the career choices i'll have is public sector forensic analysis... which would have me sifting computer evidence and testifying against criminals. i have no doubt that would involve some pretty goddamn heavy crimes, like child porn and such. and i just... i don't think i could handle that stress, man.

I want to be a little bitch and file an ethics complaint about my coworker who basically makes his own schedule and came in today on a holiday even though he's not scheduled to work so he's just here for the extra pay. I realised he's here almost every holiday or schedules himself to work them for the holiday pay rate.

He basically makes the schedule and we have a running list of on calls which we get paid to take. He always has more than everyone else too and I've called him out for cheating that system and falsely inflating those numbers and now he's cheating another. Shit pisses me off to no end but he's just taking advantage of the system in place I'm sure I would be a bitch ass too and do the same thing. Maybe I wouldn't because I'm not a scumbag dishonest unethical stealing fraud commiting bitch but you never know.

The house I'm selling had inspection yesterday, appraisal tomorrow. We're doing a quick closing which is supposed to be Tuesday the 15th but I'm scared as fuck the buyers will pull out. Like we've barely packed because we're so skeptical about the closing holding firm and it's literally next week. I don't even have a moving company booked.

Same deal here,, but she's 6 now. Last year we moved literally from one side of the building to the other and I paid some dudes $50 to move the furniture, washer, and drier.

Could I have done it? Sure. But it was worth evey penny to have them deal with that shit, even if it was just moving it 100 feet lol. I was working 60-70hrs a week at the time. Fuck that noise.
