lung cancer is probably one of the worst ways you can die, in no way is even your enemy getting that pleasant news
I disagree with you. His suffering is immaterial to me and his death improves humanity on net.
Thats one way to approach life I guess
i want to be just like rush and find joy in someones illness
RUSH: I’m telling you, there ought to be some measure of appreciation for people who buy tobacco products, despite the forces arrayed against them, It’s getting harder and harder to use tobacco products, unless you want to call marijuana tobacco, and you can do that anywhere, for the most part. But the fact of the matter is they have to endure a lot, the public hates them, they’re despised, they can’t smoke in places of comfort anymore, can’t even smoke outside in a park! And yet their actions and their taxes and their purchases are funding children’s health care programs. I’m just saying there ought to be a little appreciation shown for them, instead of having them hated and reviled. I would like a medal for smoking cigars, is what I’m saying.
And he actually got his medal.
that was an exceptionally fast godwin
I don't understand all this personal investment in the misery of strangers. There are billions of people alive and someone is dying a miserable death constantly. If you achieved anything more than performative empathy for the lived experiences of others (even just their cancer deaths), you would be absorbing a constant deluge of misery.
Performative empathy can go fuck itself. Care about what you care about and don't be fake. You genuinely care about maybe 100 people tops and I hope for your sake that Rush doesn't make the cut.
I care about the type of mindset that I have and the effect of such negative thinking may have on me. You call it performative empathy but it is rather just regular empathy for not only him but his family and the people that care about him. It's not that I care so much Rush is dying, but it seems sick and perverse to find such glee in someone's extreme misery when their biggest crime is saying words I don't like or disagree with.
Rush is responsible for the mistreat and deaths of others with his rhetoric and how he influenced a president to stoke the fans of hate. Nah this is just karma and anyone in his corner deserve to be paid in his dust.
It very much is performance empathy when you troll and speak down to others constantly. You want to appear better than those mean people and make yourself feel better somehow.
Day is on a concern trolling trip. Need some of that faux moral superiority high to feel good about something even if it's fucking stupid.
Eddie Van Halen dies and Day is like I don't care or have feelings about it. He does care about how others care about someone slowly dying through.
