If you're sure you're not guilty, why redact documents, refuse to allow witnesses to testify, actively order them to defy subpoenas?

This. Isn't there a copy of The Call that got moved to a private server as well? A recording would clear all this up...

To me it just seems like they knew they would lose in the court and just wanted to make a show out of it.

Schiff suggesting that Trump defending himself is evidence of guilt just makes Schiff look like a cartoon villain.
They did call them, and were blocked by the white house.

And then they won in the courts with the Don Mcghan case, and the judge ripped trumps lawyers a new one. Of course they appealed it, cause they want to stall this out as long as possible.

Trump cant simultaneously say we cant impeach him cause it's too close to an election at the same time hes doing everything possible to delay any and everything related to impeachment. His own lawyers contradict their own arguments, depending on the venue they're making their case at. It's the exact reason why he was impeached for obstruction of congress.

I know this isn't the world you live in, but every lawyer in the nation is in awe of the work Schiff did yesterday.

On Friday, 11 troops stationed in Iraq, who were at the airbase that was bombed by Iran, were flown out of the country because they had traumatic brain injuries (concussions). Today when Trump was asked about them at the World Economic Forum, he said their injuries were "not very serious.”

Also at the WEF, Trump has announced that he will expand the travel ban to countries in Europe, Africa, & Asia. Currently Libya, Iran, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, North Korea, and Venezuela are banned. Rumor is that Belarus, Myanmar/Burma, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania are next.

Expand the travel ban? You mean the supposedly temporary ban that was enacted to give us time to come up with procedural changes, otherwise termed "extreme vetting", meant to filter out the bad apples from the good folks that are just yearning for freedom? How many years are we supposed to leave this temporary measure in place before our extreme vetting is ready?

I wonder why Kyrgyzstan would be on there. It wasn’t too long ago we were using Manas as a supply/transportation hub into Afghanistan.

What has happened in the last few years to engender the belief that Trump knows or understands anything about our alliances in the region, or would care if he did?

I am a member of several national organizations for attorneys and the unanimous reaction yesterday was that Schiff's the high watermark for what a trial attorney should aspire to be. His preparation, presentation, and response to the opposition were, in the words of some, "enough to base an entire semester of trial prep class off of"

A former solicitor general, trial attorneys with 35+ years of experience, law professors, etc etc; even going through Twitter and looking at the reactions of every attorney I can find, essentially anyone who's ever practiced law was blown away by how masterfully Schiff presented the case.

Seeing a lot of negative reaction from Republican lawmakers and shills, so the narrative machine being in full force to try and minimize it also reinforces just how good it was.

Fuck you for asking someone else to expand on something when you refuse all the god damn time.

Can you answer this? Because everyone is not-suddenly noticing you are avoiding challenges to central arguments.

It's an argument that Republican leadership and mouthpieces have pushed and has obviously taken hold amongst the masses following those news sites or the "alternative" ones that all drink from the same firehose.

Deny all access to documents and witnesses in the House, when it gets to the Senate ask why they don't have those documents and witnesses. Expect that the average American doesn't have a good grasp of the difference between a grand jury and a trial.

The entire narrative of "it's just a political show!" is being pushed around the internet from two dozen different sources so that people can repeat it like it's their own opinion borne from careful scrutinizing of events. They're all totally fine with the Republicans wanting no witnesses or evidence for the same reason they don't care about Trump's business records or tax returns, they already know he's guilty and don't care.

Dude, you can give all the facts until you are blue in the face and Guartz will display is 'Alternate Reality' vs. what is actually happening.

And yeah, what Schiff did was pretty badass. Have a friend who's dad has been a trial lawyer in California for 20+ years and a die hard republican...even he was impressed per my friend. Anecdotal, but still.
