Mulvaney is attacking the U.S. media for over reporting on the Coronavirus for what he believes is a concentrated attack on Trump.

"The reason they are paying so much attention to it today is that they think this is going to bring down the president," Mick Mulvaney said.

Speaking to a group of conservatives on Friday, he added people should ignore the media in order to calm the markets.

"We took extraordinary steps four or five weeks ago," Mr Mulvaney said, referring to the Trump administration order to close the border to foreign travelers coming from China, where the virus originated. The move was widely covered in the media at the time.

"Why didn't we hear about it? What was going on four or five weeks ago? Impeachment. And that's all the press wanted to talk about," he told a gathering of conservatives outside Washington on Friday.

I followed some tweet from here where a Fox News guy (I'm pretty sure it was Fox) was saying he doesn't believe in germs because he can't see them and he hasn't washed his hands in ten years and he's fine. TsingTao is absolutely right that it will be accepted as fact by those who can't think for themselves and follow whatever it is the party tells them to follow.

I don't believe anything could change these peoples minds unless something personally happened to them and it was devastating. For instance, my friend's wife from the FB Trump balls pic. A lot of people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor. They don’t even call a doctor. You never hear about those people. So you can’t put them down in the category of the overall population in terms of this corona flu and/or virus. So you just can’t do that. So, if you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work. Some of them go to work, but they get better.
