That's the thing about people that just blindly follow, regardless of which side it is. The man called this virus literally a hoax. Literally said this was something his opposition was using against him. But now it's a real thing and he's taking action because it's a serious threat to everyone. And the same people cheering him for calling it a hoax and laughing at the jokes aimed at a virus are now cheering him and will say he will take care of us and this virus. Screw all of the jokes aimed at these people or what not. I cannot wrap my head around how people like this think and how people like this see nothing wrong with it. The best example I can think of regarding this would be if a person calling this a hoax and laughing about it was recorded, then today was saying how serious it is and how Trump will take care of us, and then confronted about their prior comments. They would say they never said such things, have the recording played back, and yet they would most certainly still deny it was them or deny they were making light of the situation. Just pure insanity.

I started watching The Brainwashing of My Dad on Prime. Of course it's going to be about politics but in my opinion the first 20 minutes was about family and watching family members change. It was really sad to hear people (and the creator) talk about how their family members were borderline unrecognizable. Grown adults talking about their parents and how their entire life their parents were loving, caring, all that good stuff. But after a period of time they turned into hateful, mean spirited people who were "fact resistant". The closest I could compare such a feeling to would be if my wife started acting in much a manner and would be unreachable because the fanaticism of a topic overtakes her to a point it ruins our relationship. Just thinking about it makes me sad.
