I don't know what the pandemic team did to answer that question. It's very different methods of spread. Ebola wasn't huge in the US because of our sanitation. We already had adequate infrastructure that would prevent Ebola becoming a hot mess in the US. The pandemic team didn't really matter in that case for the US. I'm sure them going to areas in Africa that don't have access to some of sanitation practices and implementing higher standards would help. If that's what they did. But, again, the way it spreads is important here, and the way a pandemic team handles containment would be very different.

To answer more simply, my best guess would be that they didn't have a massive impact here in the US and more of their impact was realized in other countries.

That is precisely my understanding as the last Ebola outbreak killed over 11,000 people in the initial countries it struck, and 36 through the entire rest of the world after containment efforts began.
