Do you bite your thumb at me, sir?

I am neither of those things FYI. They are tooooooo fucking old. I would have liked someone like Booker or Yang etc. but I know those are lost causes at this point.
With that being said, I think it makes sense, more than a “play fair” crying game which was never going to work. It’s clear the establishment dems want Biden, and a trial would completely ruin him.
So I can be as rude and insulting as I want, as long as I quote literature as I do it?

Also the timing of sending the articles will determine if Trump can boast about acquittal on the State of the Union address

Sorry, I didn't catch this.
So the idea is that in a perfect world she would never have handed them in at all since it would hurt Biden terribly. Not realistic, so she's handing them in at a time that at least hurts other candidates from campaigning just before the primaries start going.
Keep in mind she never wanted to do this in the first place. It was due to pressure from the rest of the dems.
As an aside, let's go with this is all made up and completely inaccurate. It doesn't change the fact the other high polling candidates will, in fact, be stuck in a trial hearing during the primaries if she submits the articles. This is not good for them, regardless the reasoning for the timing.
What choice did she have? The President abused the office. She already ignored the Mueller report recommendation to impeach because Trump was so far out ahead of that narrative.

Where are you getting this idea that people will be in trials? The Turtle already said he had no intention of calling any witnesses. Even if they do, depositions and having answers read in the proceedings is more likely, it's what was done last time.
Who said they would be witnesses?
Warren and Bernie are senators. The trial would be in the senate. I linked this article earlier, but it explains it:
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/...help-joe-biden
The Senate impeachment rules state the Senate shall convene every day at 1 pm, or sooner if ordered by the Senate, to consider articles of impeachment and shall continue to be in session every day of the week except for Sunday.
The rules require the Senate to sit in trial of articles of impeachment continuously “until a final judgment shall be rendered, and so much longer as may, in its judgment, be needful.”
The rules further state that the Senate may direct the Sergeant at Arms to request and subsequently compel the attendance of any absent senators if a quorum is not present in the chamber.
The 1999 Senate trial of former President Clinton stretched for more than a month.
In case you were referring to Biden and not Warren/Sanders:
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/0...-schiff-096773
Trump has been pushing to supoena him when the time comes. I bet tutrle will cave and give it to him.
I was referring back to this post:
Impeachment rules have historically been symmetrical, McConnell can't just call whoever without exposing people like Bolton to subpoenas as well which is doubtful.
You could argue that he would disregard that and set up rules that were entirely asymmetrical but that seems exceedingly unlikely given his history, especially concerning his comments on the filibuster and Presidential appointments.
This whole presidency (and to be frank, the senate) has taking historical precedence and thrown it out the window.
McConnell is already fighting to have the articles to have a deadline.
He also has been working to dismantle the filibuster, so not sure about your comment there.
Not to mention what he did with the supreme court voting.
And before you say they coulda started working on them in those two weeks...
The turtle hasnt even set the rules yet, and without that the house doesnt even know how many managers it needs for the trial. The complaining would make more sense if McConnell had disseminated the rules for the trial already, but he hasnt. So were all waiting on him anyways.

Yes, Pelosi has been pretty adamant that she's just waiting because everyone was on vacation. She just thought they needed a rest and never said anything about holding them until she thinks there will be a fair trial or anything.
