Getting ALTTP Rando + CC in made this year for me, patty and andy have such great synergy. Would like to see a hell randomizer but doubt we'll see a potential 8hr zelda run.

Two of those five deaths screwed by the tail during the grab section of Ridley's death. :/
What an amazing run of an oppressively difficult ROM hack.
Saving the animals could have potentially cost the run there. Glad there it wasn't a straight minute only.
Super Metroid Impossible is about as close as you can get to Impossible without going full Kaizo Mario. That Ridley fight... that Mother Brain fight... hell, ALL of the boss fights, really.
Edit: Ten years and over 25 mil. Ups and downs aside (every organization has ups and downs)... that's seriously goddamn impressive. All they wanted to shoot for was 5k ten years ago, and look at it now.
I wonder how much of that crowd control money ends up with charity considering the people had to buy bits to convert to coins to use and the crowd control app probably takes some too?
I'd have rather seen a hell rando (or glitch one, anything really) over crowd control, though as I said yesterday I know it does keep funds coming. ALTTPR is so 2018! Patty calling Andy "the bad boy of randomizer" cracked me up though.
SMM2 race was overall really good. SMI was nuts. I was only casually watching that outside of certain parts, so I didn't even think anything about Ridley blocking the Varia suit until he made a comment on the way back.
Link's Awakening was great. Best Zelda run of the week. Some of the wacky stuff they do during that OOT and WW run are impressive in their own right, but I forget if it was here or on twitch, someone said it felt almost like those were hacking the game rather than playing it. The sort of tricks/skips done in LA are the sort of thing that I'm all for.
All in all, from what I was able to see, the event was fine. Besides Oats running a hack that I hope to never see someone enduring again, the infamous Terraria run, and another Punch Out run, I'm not sure there's any specific things that will be really memorable from this event for me. Memes were even worse than expected.
They really need to squelch the crowd on future events. Orb was just supposed to be a 'thing' to yell in the context of SMW, similar to yump, not every god damn game with a slightly round thing. Why Honk was even a thing when that was the game's first showing (late in the week) was beyond me.
Also re: LTTP Crowd Control run.

Because Goose Game was basically THE game the past few months, it was approved for a speedrun late/close to deadlines because it released in mid-September.
Everybody was waiting for the run, hyped, and they stuck it on the last day.
The memes were fine yall a bunch of stiffs
The Link's Awakening run just reminded me of how much love Nintendo put into that remaster. Absolutely amazing game, packed to the gills with charm.

Cancelled? Says moved to August.
Well fuck, the link I read that led to the twitter said cancelled, and when I went through must have thought that was the original date that got cancelled, not rescheduled.
