You're forgetting that the original MvC3 was only around for one Evo before UMvC3, which had different balancing and new characters, came out not even a year later. Only 1 Sentinel was even in the top 8 for that year.

I could see capcom continuing to treat this as a real sport with “rule changes” implemented only in the off-season. They have a ton of money invested in this so they’re gonna wanna stretch out their dev dollars lol.

Ultimate came out 10 months after the release of vanilla MvC3, so the character was "deleted from existence" for like 8 months for a game that was Evo main stage for what... 7 years?

I mean every game since 4 has had characters that where winning through the entire span of the games life.

I'm clearly only talking about the original version.

I get that, but unless Capcom is keeping a lot of stuff close to the vest we should see more than this.

A super art being changed from -24 on block to -20 does not feel like something that should take an entire year to be patched into a game.

Ok and? You're talking about a version of the game that was relevant for less than a year over the 8-ish year life span that it was a marquee title.

To be fair, when has Capcom ever released the full patch notes a week or two before the update? Maybe they have but I can’t recall off the top of my head.

I remember people praising Capcom for one of the patch note releases during SFV but that was probably cause they actually went more in depth with their explanations on the changes than before. Old notes were just vague shit like "adjusted frame date"or "adjusted damage".

Does any game dev even do patch notes a week or weeks in advance?

Both Strive and Tekken 7/8 have consistently had patch notes out at least a week in advance.

Idk what it is, but man it is so much easier to play Tekken while drunk then it is Street Fighter.

I haven't touched Street Fighter with any alcohol in my system (unless it's at like a party or something) since I ended up in that DSP video. Granted I double perfected him while blackout drunk despite being unable to land a single combo, but Tekken I have zero issues with hopping into some ranked matches while nursing a drink.

I guess at least speaking for the current meta it helps that Alisa is absolutely braindead once I get out the chainsaws.

I mean Capcom has basically kicked the entire event to the curb at this point despite it being easily the best attendee experience in NA now.

    Bullet Top or Ball Top?

(Considering most of you are Street Fighter nerds I'm assuming you'll just say ball top)

I put new sticks in the cabinet (replacing the Sanwa JLFs with Seimitsu NOBIs) and nice part is you don't need a flathead to change out the tops since the shaft doesn't rotate, so i can just keep whichever ones aren't being used inside a little bag inside the cabinet if people want to swap.

Bullet Top was designed specifically for that stick and it's a nice best of both worlds since some games do absolutely feel better with a bat top style but still works with most grip variations people use on a ball top
