Tekken X SF officially dead. I remember Harada said a while ago that they couldn't find a good release window for it without splitting the Tekken playerbase but that it was still in early development. Guess it never left early development.

Based on what they said about all of the models being done and from them re-using Akuma's assets into Tekken 7, that game would have looked seriously good.

A shame, but Capcom really fucked up with the gem system and on-disc DLC. That was still during the back end of Capcom's "lost decade" where just about everything they made (outside of SF4) was complete hot ass. I'm still pissy about Breath of Fire being made into a fucking mobile trash game and absolutely murdering the franchise.

I tried watching about 20 minutes of it. First tourney play I've seen in what feels like 2 years. Boring beyond belief.

I don't know if they "rage quit" but Calli and TBR didn't post much during the release of SFV to begin with I think but back then it really was Spiderdan vs Welt in a FT100.

We're pretty quiet here these days because we're usually busy as fuck elsewhere. Calli more so than me, considering he has a house now and is usually supporting a number of broadcasts with code/asset work. Moridam also summed it up pretty well: our main social circles are elsewhere these days.

I definitely lost interest in SFV around tail end of season one. When those patch notes were posted, I pretty much noped out. No hope after that. Went on to Xrd and didn't look back really. Don't get me started about Strive.

Calli stuck with it, but seeing Sak done dirty was not a good day. Went more towards Granblue and Strive, but still keeps up.

My interest in pretty much everything FG-related dipped hard thanks to the pandemic. I've never been one for online play, but now you're telling me we have to have a full logistical operation to run a tournament out of a Discord and pray to god a game's netcode or lobby system doesn't fuck us? Nope. Nope nope nope. Not to mention a clownass Twitch chat does not beat a live audience any day of the week. There's something about having those people to feed off of that you just can't get in an online tournament. Also does not help that none of the current games are really screaming "PLAY ME!" I'm going to be in the retirement home playing old peoples' games at this rate.

What really fucking sucks too was the last tournament Calli and I worked in-person was Evo Japan 2020. Having that be your last tournament is a blessing and a curse.
