    I completely understood when Nintendo didn't bother supporting esports at all. As far as Smash is concerned, there's nothing in it for them.

    Going out of their way to throw their lot in with one random shady org, and shutting down other grassroots tournaments is baffling thou. Bad PR and losing free advertising for no discernible gain. Seems about as dumb as when they were shutting down/taking monetization from youtubers and streamers covering their games years ago.

    Yeah the wording of the statement is explicitly that he's no longer the CEO, not that he's no longer with the company, so my assumption was he's still at the company, he's just not technically the CEO anymore. Panda sucks.
