Also 6 has stricter inputs overall compared to 5. I was playing Jamie earlier and having the same issue with his command grab that I do with half circles in gear where you have to have both forward and back to get it.

I hadn't paid too much attention in the cracked beta but thank God.

Stuff like the 360 inputs in 5 are fucking STUPID and make no sense how Capcom decided that it should be a valid input (6 4 2 8 being the most obvious example).

Hope is a mistake.

Mainstream fighting games are only going to get simpler and simpler, you want serious execution requirements go find your nearest bathroom stall to grind sets with the anime players.

you can still bring sf to the masses while also finding room for characters like fuerte and c viper. they add spice to the competitive scene and make the game more interesting to watch from a spectator standpoint

smug was a crowd favorite because he did things with dudley that 95% of the playerbase were incapable of doing in a serious match

And since we saw 4 we've seen mainstream fighting games getting progressively less complex. 5 they went too far and they're bringing it back a bit (mostly just deeper mechanics, execution at least in the demo characters is quite simple), but I don't see them effectively locking characters out of the player base by making them harder to play.

Guilty Gear dumbed down the series with Xrd, then even further with Strive, and Daisuke has said within the last week or so he'll make the next one even easier. Tekken 7 greatly simplified the game and 8 is also getting easier. KoF got easier, Marvel, etc etc

My hope is very low after playing the beta. I'm almost glad that Diablo4 releases the same week and I'm legit likely to not even buy SF6. If the advanced gameplay ends up resembling more SF4 than SF5, I'll dig it at that point.

Execution difficultly has gone up quite a bit from 5. Kens Jinrai loops in the corner essentially have 3 one frame links. Prefect parry is a 2 frame window.

3 premiers that grant an automatic spot for winning, not only 3 offline events. Each region will have 5 tournaments with a regional final. Though, they didn't specify if those regionals would be online or offline.

Gotta remember, some offline tournaments haven't come back since Covid and Capcom's tour piggybacks off of the scene.

That also doesn't change that there's probably a dozen jp players that are better then everyone in some of these regions and letting those regions just get someone in without having to play international talent is bullshit.
