I feel worthless as fuck on this fight as a lancer due to all the ailments you can get hit with. That and apparently this fight is a giant DPS check on elemental damage meaning weapons with low elemental modifiers like Lance/Gunlance are a determent to the group.

Yup. Not even soft elementals. You need HEAVY elemental damage. Further the DPS check on the second Nova is ludicrous. if your team lets up damage for more than a minute or two you've failed with no chance to live.

Not to mention in addition to these DPS checks he spends a long time flying, and half the walls don't work for wall bang and if he's enraged there's just nothing you can do. This fight is stupid.

Fight is a giant DPS check where the only challenge is in the nova mechanic and makes some weapons a liability. Where's the fun in that?

Yeah not a fan of this fight. Without the DPS check it's a fun fight. His attacks are cool. However adding a DPS check, while also making half the walls not able to be banged and also giving him enough flight where large sections of the fight you just can't do anything. This is just poorly designed with a DPS check.

EDIT: How are DBs on this guy? I think I have my safi elemental knives fully upgraded

DB are one of the best weapons to use due to high elemental damage and dodge potential. You also play close though so really need to be careful and softening is a bitch. When he's flying you're basically gimped.

Temporal Mantle + Slinger is how I deal with flyers

Alatreon can strip your temporal mantle in about 1 second flat though if you clutch him during an attack.

Alatreon armor useless. Tried two piece 3 safi. With adding Fire/Thunder/Water resist 2 and Ice resist 3 and it was still less than 5 safi. Well that sucks. Some of his weapons are nice but the armor serves no purpose.

In all fairness it should be pretty fucking tanky compared to Safi.

Yeah but you have to sacrifice crazy amount of space to even match Safi. Tried the DB too. They have less element 4pc Slos than 5pc Safi Kjarr. So no DB either. rip. At least GnLnc and LBG got good weapons out of him. Wish his stuff was more useful though.

Yeah just tried and got floored. Also tried with a group and fuck it. I'm just going to go full elemental stats on my safi lances and try soloing it. If it doesn't work fuck it I'll just go back to farming Furious Rajang
