Btw PC folks, there's a modder making some absolutely fantastic model swaps out there, remastered versions of some of the best weapons from the series.

I could be wrong but weren't the Kjarr (or whatever they're called) LBGs fully upgraded supposed to be good for elemental damage?

I was deployed basically from the release of MR Kulve up to a few days ago so I missed what may have been the meta for awhile, but as it stands now the elemental LBGs is literally just Alatreon with a splash of Safi Aquashot and Adept Stormslinger (if you're playing on PS4).

I think the only KT LBG still worth investing in would be Support for that sweet sweet 8 clip RF Normal 2

What makes the Safi Aqua better? The rapid fire stickies I guessing.

You awaken it differently if you're using elemental.

Realistically, the difference is so minimal I'd imagine 99% of players will just use Alatreon for RF Water so they don't have waste time/resources upgrading an extra Safi weapon

there's almost no monsters that are weakest to water at the endgame anyway. its all ice

You can set up the Alatreon LBG to have running fire and fast reload for any element. With 4 capacity already on element shots, you just augment for element up and save it into 4 slots with different customizations and spare shot charm + 6 points into each element. No need even for ammo up honestly. No muss, no fuss.

I think I still fit free element into the build I made it for cause honestly wasn't much else to slot in.

Edit : I guess looking at the meta build they went with agitator 5/attack boost 4, whereas I have free element 3/health boost 3/agitator 2. /shrug

Yeah you definitely can, it just doesn't do as much as it did in older builds that only had 1-2 ammo or had medium+ reloads. Alatreon LBG just flat out spams shots nonstop with just a razor sharp charm.

Gotcha. Thanks for helping with my inner boomer. Anyway guess it's off for the not-so-fun grind phase now. Need a lot of Furor jewels and some Guards for Brachy gear on my lancer.

Then I dunno, maybe learn a new weapon. Can't find anything else that screams me yet.

not that there's anything particularly exciting about it but the new summer fest has been out for a few days. there's only 1 new piece of gear, a pair of dual blades, and everything else is layered armour

I mean, still need to pop on daily for the steamworks deco tickets.
And the event hub food platter for Iceborne has a 100% zoologist buff, so now is a good time to try and get rare endemic fauna.

There a 6 new event quests to do (not counting Alatreon stuff)

Fetching Light Pearls - You need 1 ticket from it
Camoflawed - You need 1 ticket, also I might have been lucky, but it might be a guaranteed gold crown
Seeing is Believing - You need 2 tickets, also I might have been lucky, but it might be a guaranteed gold crown
Don't Forget the Earplugs - You need 3 tickets
Monkey Business - You need 3 tickets, I'm also hearing it has a guaranteed Goldspring Macaque spawn.
The Naked Truth - You need 6 tickets

I could be wrong but I think Naked Truth also gives you a very generous chance at Tenderplates if you need them. I think on my first run I got like 3 of them and didn't break the head. In my 2nd same scenario but only got 1 tenderplate.

So any advice for using SnS on highly mobile fights? Took me 25 minutes and 1 knockout to take out tempered nargacuga with Safi blast.

Use Perfect Rush. It got buffed to a point where nothing in SnS is as good as Perfect Rush. It's stupid strong. One of the math guys is a SnS main who jokes SnS has a flow chart. "Do you have an opening to use Perfect rush? Yes - Use Perfect Rush. No - Use Perfect Rush anyways."

You can't really spam it against something mobile like Narga

Your basic triangle, triangle, spin slash > repeat is good for monsters that are moving a lot, and going for Falling Bash and Perfect Rush spam as opportunities present itself.

Also make sure to use the shoryuken a lot, it makes tenderizing with SnS a breeze
