Finally decided to try this again and bought it on Steam. Started me up in some noob Guardian armor? Is the point of this to make it easier to get to Iceborne? Will I be wearing this forever??

I should warn you that a common problem people have once that set gets outdated is that they're still noobs at playing because the gear is that damn good. Id suggest noobing it up in some weaker gear for a short bit to get your basics in before you power through everything in that set.

Ya, I'd have to agree. The game has a pretty noticeable learning curve, once you hit Anjanath, and it only steps it up from there, with each monster. If you don't learn how to actually fight each monster, you will end up being curb-stomped and frustrated when armor alone can't carry you, and mechanics start overlapping. I remember how frustrated I was getting, but it made me better, and the game lasted far longer because of it.

Just use the weapons but HR appropriate armor so the fights are a bit shorter but you still have to learn to dodge.

Still working thru it but the first portion of the Fatalis quest is spectacular

I lost. Make sure you have fire resistance, a lot of potions and speed eating really helps

It has a wipe mechanic. I’m not saying what you have to do but it’s a great experience lol

I'd assume the wipe mechanic is tied to that gate behind the dragonator they tell you about before the quest
