So first some vague science facts as stated by me after reading about this stuff for the past year-ish.
- Avg. male at their peak of Testosterone production (so could be anywhere from 18-25 yrs old probably) makes ON AVG. 5mg-11mg of testosterone with their testicles PER WEEK. Of course you have outliers both on the low and high side, so avg is safe to say around 7/8mg per week. EDIT: this is per day, 7/8mg PER DAY. sorry... so around 50-60mg per week
And this usually puts most healthy males in that same age range smack in the middle of 250-950ng/dl so around 625ish ng/dl. Now Test is used to make all sorts of other hormones like estrogen, sex hormone binding globual (spelling), prolactin, to name a few, but the test that can be put to use, by activating androgenic receptors in muscles is called Free-test.
Free-test is Test thats bound to an up-take element (most often zinc or magnesium) and can't be converted to those other hormones. So High testosterone is great, because it means your body has a great supply, but Free-test is what your muscles can utilize. So after a day of working out, your muscles go into repair mode, and utilize the free-test that's avalible to enhance and restore muscle. IF your being healthy, by eating, training, and for fucks sake, sleeping properly, your body does this, and at the same time transform some of your regular test to free-test so as to ...rinse and repeat.
Test = gas in the tank
free-test = gas in the injectors/cylinders.
Proper nutrition, sleep, and training = converting all that 'fuel' into the 'fuel in the engine'
Milk or panda correct me if i'm wrong on this.
So to answer your question:
Side effects:
-Having alot of test means you can make alot of free-test, but it also means your body can "aramotse" (i fucked the spelling, don't care) that test into those other hormones. Prolactin, Estrogen, and SHBG can all be bad if to high or low, but the big stinker is estrogen. You get to much of that, or to little, and your gonna be all out of sorts, water retention, sore joints, acne, and emotional rollercoaster like a woman goes through once a month (not saying this in a derog way, just a simple fact, individual results may vary both in females and males)
- not directly a side but the manner in which you take test can also cause side's so Test-c, or Test-E or Test-A are all esters of pure chemical testosterone, and they break down at different speeds in the blood stream. Conversely you can take medicines, like HCG, Clomid, anavar that increase the bodies NATURAL production of test. These are great if you want to be able to still have big balls and or children. This is a pain in the ass and potentially wasteful of gains made both physically and mentally while on gear or even just TRT levels. So most individuals are best suited to perform a PostCycleTherapy = PCT. This usually involves taking certain drugs (HCG) at a controlled dose to essentially turn everything back on. This doesn't really apply to TRT, as that's long term treatment, like myself, my shit was so low, that even taking this upcoming HCG is probably going to barely raise my overall Test levels. but my balls will come back, yay!
- Some people, myslef included, will produce more red blood cells while on TRT or Steroids. More RBC means your blood is thicker, means you heart has to work harder, also means oxygen IN your blood is spread out more. This is actually relieved by donating blood. Fucking blood letting, and for me the effects are noticeable within hours. Folks at high altitude (currently me at 6500ft) also have these problems acerbated by the decrease in oxygen in the atmosphere.
- Thick blood can mean strokes. I won't shit ya, but even my hematocrit levels being high have never gotten above 54 (avg is 48-52 at most clinics) I notice anything over 50 personally, but i've gotten used to it. The cool thing is when i go home, it'll be like oxygen saturation, and i'll feel great!
-honestly, panda or milk would know better for more supraphysiological levels like they're taking, so i'll let them chime in.
- oh! IF your genetically prone to hair loss, taking test, or some of the test increasing drugs will definetly cause that genetic disposition to occur.
- I would honestly say the side effect of TRT is that I want to try more daring things like what milk does, but the former drug user in me knows that's a road i'll have to tread down carefully. I want to be heathly, but not get 90's super hero movie swole.
- I guess pinnning (injecting yourself) could be considered a side, but honestly, i've never been squeemish of needles, I just tend to think of my body as a giant robot, and in the year i've been sticking myself 1 and 2 times a week, I think it's "hurt" maybe twice, and even then i'm like... let me try this again... and it was fine. scar tissue can form if you use the same place, but I alternate ass cheeks and foam roll regular so thats no thang.
- it is still illegal if you don't have a prescription.
- it can take some time to dial in your required dosage if doing TRT (Like me) my dock started me at 40mg a week.... I took it for 3 weeks and was like... I feel like horse shit.... lemme double it after reading up about TRT on the intraanet. And that's when the lights came on and I was like.... I haven't felt GOOD like this in so fucking long! I do 100mg now, just cause i'm training pretty heavily here in Afghan, and i'm going to incorporate HCG to turn on my body's own Test production, and make my balls work OH that's a good one. IF your just taking Test, your body will stop producing LH and FSH (I think those are the two) that the pitutiary makes that tells the balls to make testosterone. and sperm. So currently my LH and FSH are so low they don't even register on my last blood work , infact, testosterone was once thought to be a male birth control, so HCG comes in and tells the pitutary to start pumping out its regularly scheduled hormones and your balls swell up and you start shooting live rounds again.
- that's honestly about it... I think... i mean high estrogen can also lead to gynomasty, the growing of breast tissue that ISN'T muscle, I have some currently, not from TRT, but from before living an unhealthy life. but I don't care really, i'm never gonna be cut up like alot of body builders you see or milk or panda. but fuck if I don't feel like i'm ready to raise a kid for the next 20 years.
- bottom line, the benefits for my mental and physical fitness have been light years more worthwhile than the zits I got on my chest and shoulders (I didn't get that much honestly, I think once i get my Aromatse inhibitor, (stops the coversion of test into est) that stuff will clear up also. I don't believe in conspiracies man, I really try not even entertain them, but after being on so many god damn psych meds and never feeling like anything was really working, and then getting on Test. I am ALMOST inclined to say that it's a fucking conspiracy. I know that shit sound super cray, but if you had my life you would understand - Scott Mescudi
It's helped me come to grips with all the fuck that i've experienced these past 20 years, and I'm not so scared about having a little boy depend on me like I was for so long in the military.
I would say if your past 30, and you feel kinda funk, I'd get your blood work done with a focus on hormones and associated chemicals. I know I won't tell you bullshit and as much as Milk and panda joke about it, I don't think they would either. There's a big difference in doing a cycle at 500mg/week and taking a supplemental dose at 100mg/week.
