I guess I don't know what the word "disease" means beyond associating it with curable and incurable (eg hep)

i've heard a lot of people that have been hospitalized to this also get pneumonia, so it could be that. i'm not sure if you get permanent lung damage from sars and mers either. wouldn't surprise me
COVID-19 is technically a disease that you get subsequent to infection by a strain of the SARS-COV-2 virus. The distinction is mostly meaningless for most people.
There haven't been long-term studies of lung capacity in survivors yet afaik. The claims to that effect are based on the other coronaviruses, which cause a permanent reduction in lung capacity in something like 20% of cases.
I think most people are under the assumption that if it doesn't kill you or make you get ventilated, you'll be totally fine
pneumonia permanently messes with your lungs too but it's normally nothing drastic. i'd assume it's in the same vein as that.
Y'all suckers keep worrying about the what ifs. I got the cure now so I'm not worried!

There is no real data on COVID-19 specifically yet because all the lungs take up to 6 weeks to recover from pneumonia and we don't have many people that have been recovered for that long.
Just remember that most people who get it have mild or no symptoms.
People near me are going full stupid. Went to Safeway at 7:05, 5 minutes after they opened and it was slammed. No TP, i got the last roll of paper towels. No chicken, barely any beef. No hand sanitizer of course. Talked to the cashier and they had 25 people waiting outside before open. Just unreal. Wonder how long it's going to be this bad.
We have a store in what's sort of considered the uppity white people area of town and last night around 7 PM they had a bunch of meat, poultry, cleaning products, and weren't too bad on other things. They were completely sold out of 24 pk of water tho. I didn't check paper items. My wife's only request is chicken flavored ramen noodles and no one has them!
I picked up food at a favorite restaurant on Friday and the basketball court outside it was the most full I have ever seen. Probably partially the lack of school and unseasonably warm weather, but if closing the schools was supposed to stop kids from spreading it to each other I think we can consider the objective thoroughly not met in that neighborhood.

Or you could enjoy another 14 day vacation.

India is imposing a 14 hour curfew in the hopes it will help curb the spread. Officially, they've only confirmed less than 400 cases.
Well, it's bad enough in the next town over (guh!) that one friend of ours asked my sewing sister to make masks for her.
I will pray for the poor lady and if any of you guys are religious pray for our medical personnel. They are gonna need all the help they can get.
Still not too bad in my county/city though you can't pay me enough to go to Atlanta right now. I'll just prolly enjoy the pandacam from the Atlanta Zoo instead.![]()
Seems very bad, especially considering S. Korea got hit way earlier and has over 2.5x as many people and has tested a way higher percentage of its population.![]()
