How is it possible to contain this virus? It seems like it spreads too easily and has already spread too far to quarantine every person who already has it, so are we waiting on some kind of "cure" to be created?

Butterfly nets and a swat team
That was actually kinda nutty.
The net made me laugh, though.

California officials have announced the repercussions of that unknown they found, 8400 possible infections. 33 new persons have tested positive.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Thursday that 33 people in California have tested positive for coronavirus, with officials monitoring more than 8,400 people for the virus.
Newsom said during a press conference that five people who tested positive have since moved out of the state as officials deal with the spreading virus.
One of those people is from an unknown source, raising the concern that the virus is spreading among the general public for the first time in the U.S.
The governor said those being monitored for the virus are in 49 local jurisdictions in the state.
The first case with an unknown source drew added attention because the CDC initially declined to do a test for coronavirus because the case did not match the criteria of having returned from an affected country or come into contact with someone known to have it.
California ripping the antibody bandaid off I see. Might take a few months but at least california will immunize itself/kill off the weaklings faster than the other 49 states.

My understanding was that viruses like this have reduced infectious ability at higher temperatures (above ~60 degrees) compared to lower temps. Is that not the case? I remember reading about that with respect to SARS. I wasn't trying to imply anything about people's interactions and summer.
Dont worry folks, they're totally following protocol. No danger. Our top men are on it.

Team members were not properly trained, lacked necessary gear and moved freely around and off military bases where Americans were quarantined, a complaint says.
Has anyone heard anything on the mechanism of covid-19? All I hear are flu like symptoms, but that's anything and everything that inflames your respiratory system so that doesnt tell me much. I'm really curious how it is that healthy adults are dying, and I'd feel like wed already know if the virus caused people to hemorrhage or something.

Double.
Fever and immediate respiratory symptoms, including cough. No runny nose, severe sore throat, or drainage typical of flu viruses.
To answer, the weather warming up won't help much because of the way coronavirodae spread (mouth/nose to stuff contact, not airborne).
Right now it's questionable whether it's droplet or not but I wouldn't take your chances if you suspect you're in an affected area. Wash your hands at least 30 seconds and stay aware.
My wife woke up in the middle of the night coughing like crazy. Was fine yesterday. Today slight runny nose, mega cough, headache. I'm one of those that hates going to the doctor over cold symptoms, but this shit is kind of scary. She doesn't have a fever. One of her coworkers is also sick now. Guess I better fire up TLoU and prepare. /s
You can always take Zicam and Vitamin C. If it's a run of the mill cold it'll usually improve.
If she goes into coughing fits that's something I wouldn't sit on.
Right now it's coming and going. If it gets stupid bad we're off to the doc/ER. And yes we're doing those things too. Weather around here has been going up and down constantly. I tend to get bad colds when this happens so I don't be surprised if I get it too. Last time we both got sick she was better in 3-4 days.

Italian cases have risen to 650 cases and 17 deaths. The virus has also spread to 44 countries outside of China (it was 39 last I posted).
https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsan...ls-for-a-monthItaly's number of COVID-19 coronavirus cases spiked by more than 50% in just 24 hours and now stands at 650, the Italian Ministry of Health says, adding that 17 people have died from the respiratory virus. More than 400 of the cases are in the hard-hit Lombardy region, where some towns are under a lockdown.
Nearly 250 of the people who were infected are currently in the hospital, including 56 patients who are in intensive care, the Italian ministry says, citing a Thursday afternoon update from Angelo Borrelli, commissioner for the coronavirus emergency. Another 284 people who have been infected are in home isolation to try to stop the coronavirus from spreading further.
Japan is closing all of it's schools for a month while the country attempts to contain the virus.
