The virus itself shouldn't be the focus. The sheer incompetence of its handling coupled with Trumpfuck's response is making it worse.

To be fair it is a cold virus that you can easily develop pneumonia from and die. (At much higher relative rates than the typical cold or flu). Even if you consider mortality rate as low as 2% that is much higher than the 0.1% of the flu. Calling it a cold is super disingenuous. It is a dangerous virus to have spread world wide collectively. Individually maybe not so much but on a world wide scale it could cause a lot of problems.

Yes but as a medical professional you should know that even though marburg and ebola are in the same family of viruses one is much more concerning for humans than the other and calling them both marburg is a stupid thing to do and only serves to mask the severity of one of the viruses. Panic isn't good but neither is pretending that this is just a cold virus (in the colloquially sense).

The point is that while COVID=19 is in the same family of viruses as colds it is definitely more severe than the cold and slightly more dangerous than the flu. But slightly more dangerous than the flu if it ends up as widespread as the flu can make a huge difference.
