Naw, we have 7.7 billion people on the planet. With a 50% infection rate and a ~1% mortality rate that's ~40 million deaths. You're talking about a death toll comparable to world war 1.

Also, that 1% mortality rate is for people in hospitals, which is not going to be the case in most of the developing world (including China), or even the US if this hits as hard and fast as it might.

The only reason not to panic is that our bed is already made.
