100,720 according to outlets. 99,624 confirmed according to WHO. Not really any adjustment required, I wouldn't doubt that once it updates the counter we'll be at around 101,000.

Cases are going to explode now that it has come to the U.S. I wouldn't expect the rate of deaths to change much, but we'll see just how well-prepared we are for this (spoiler alert: apparently not very well at all, still a fucking pain to get it tested).

As more people get tested I would actually expect the number of cases to shoot up.

Nurse's unions are weird. We were trying to set up a pilot testing program where homeless/low income could go to a local fire department during specified hours for vaccinations as they are all trained, and they can potentially have copious amounts of dead time that could be used for programs like that and the local nurses union's shut that shit down with a quickness, essentially saying it's overkill and people should be going to a hospital/doctor/clinic for vaccinations.

So my wife works in Wake County in NC (Cary, just outside of Raleigh) and there has been 1 confirmed case here.

She got the flu last week and also got pneumonia and an upper respiratory infection because she's just that lucky. Fast forward to today. She's had no fever for 48hrs and been on meds for over 72hrs and had taken the past two days off as a precaution.

Her boss and head of HR pulled her outside this am to tell her she had to leave because her cough might make the other employees uncomfortable because of coronavirus. Mind you, they have all of her documentation as far as her illness etc. Her staff is 4 people, all of whom have come in sick numerous times throughout the years like troopers. They wouldn't even let her back in the building to get her stuff. All of her employees texted her within 30min asking wtf happened because they knew she had pneumonia and had zero problems with her being there.

HR lady told her she couldn't come back as long as she has a cough. HR lady is now a doctor apparently.

21 people test positive for coronavirus on California cruise ship, out of 46 tested so far

Among the 46 persons swabbed, 24 were negative and one was inconclusive.

Nineteen of the positive tests came from crew members, Vice President Pence said. Officials plan to bring the ship into a “non-commercial port” over the weekend, where all passengers and crew will be tested, he said.
