I wouldn't wait on this. So many orders at local stores here can't be fulfilled due to running out of things. Just suck it up and go so you can substitute anything you need yourself.

Our local walmart has gotten flakey on grocery orders the last two weeks. The afternoon/evening shift for grocery picking is calling in "sick"..Sick my butt. If a whole shift's really sick I'm a purple people eater.

So yeah, at this point better to go in, and I told sis that if we really needed something from walmart, I'll walk the bloody 5 miles and take the bus for it. (Our town recently got well, cutaway buses which I call van-buses, and they go to Wal-Mart.)

We easily could survive for weeks on the canned/dried goods we have as is, and my freezer already has stuff in it. It's more for convenience so we don't get sick of eating that stuff everyday if possible. Plus I haven't gotten my corned beef n' cabbage yet for St. Patty's Day.

I don't need much toilet paper. We order two more bidets to add to our bathrooms that don't have.

Past 24 hours have been a real wake-up call for a lot of people. The real show is about to begin. Sick politicians, sick celebrities, companies going under, medical shortage, panic, and gonna be a wild few months going forward. if the medical experts are correct it’ll take 4-6 months for crisis to pass.

Wife's getting induced on Thursday. Can't find any goddamn hand sanitizer for general baby handling anywhere. Bought lysol wipes as some kind of substitute. At least I get a month's paid paternal leave so I don't have to worry toooo much about my fresh new baby getting it.
Might go back out and do a bunch more grocery shopping though in the morning just to stock up in case things get really super stupid crazy and everyone just starts buying everything enmass.

This may have to do that we haven’t done many tests. Isn’t it something like 10,000 total tests performed so far?

Also it’s increased by about 1.6x every two days for the past like 10 days now.

i mean, it's an entirely new strain of virus that people have no immunity to, they're exposed to hundreds if not thousands of potential carriers daily, they're underpaid, overworked, and stressed... it's entirely reasonable for an entire shift at a grocery store to wind up sick at the same time under these conditions. heck, even with a normal cold or flu, it's typical for one of my own coworkers to get sick then the rest of us to get it within a week or two of them showing symptoms.

Psion: Ha. Well, it's very suspicious that it's the SAME shift on the SAME day (Wednesday) that's calling out sick. VERY suspicious. We're not going to use their grocery app for a while because of this and will prolly not be shopping at Wal-Mart for our groceries as much for a while.

Also there's no known cases in my town of this virus, so yeah. There's going to be trouble at that Wal-Mart.

As for us, we bought some TP from Sam's a while ago, so we should be good for a month with that, and me and 'Neko are headed to Sam's again Saturday to pick up some bar soap and some other stuff.
