It finally fucking happened. Someone in my building...same floor as me is presumptive positive for COVID-19. Just got a work email from our EVP stating all employees who worked on the 2nd and 3rd floor to work remote till Wednesday when confirmation of his testing comes back.

That blows. They have the ability to let you work remotely but they're waiting for people to get sick before that? That's just idiocy.

No more dining in restaurants in Illinois as of Monday. Take out only. Bars also closed. Sucks to be a waitress right about now.

Yeah it's the MO for where I work at (Major ISP in the US). Spectrum...gotta love it.

I came from the Legacy TWC side, and there they had no problem with engineers like myself working remote. But Charter Communications hates ANYTHING that is WFH...unless you are senior management (VP and above). Once they bought us, that was the first thing they got rid of...followed by our kick ass employee discounts and normal Select Plus PPO health plan (Now we use an HRA...which is what Charter always used).

I honestly love my job, but the love I had for TWC as an employee and company is no longer there now that we are Spectrum.

LA mayor was on the news as well, seemed to indicate not ask, but require. So mixed messaging.

Can't find source or timestamp for the press conference, but Newsom may have said news will be coming tomorrow on a mortgage and rent solution.

I’m aware this is a personal question so feel free not to answer but is there a particular reason you had a large gap of unemployment? Do you have any kind of post high school education? Trade skills or relevant work experience? Are you on job recruiting sites like LinkedIn, Glass Door, Monster, your state’s employment portal? Just trying to get a grasp on what we’re working with here.

Washington closing all bars and restaurants, also entertainment venues. restaurants can do take out and delivery only. Oregon is expected to follow suit tomorrow. This is unreal.
