I see how my post wasn't worded the best. What I meant was I didn't care to see a GP because I don't trust them to get it right the first time so I just let it go which in the end was what made me go to the ER. The gout diagnosis was 100% spot on by the ER doctor. I did what he said to do and in short time all of the leg pains I had were gone.
I get it that health care is not easy and the people that work in the field have a lot on their plate. I get it that just because Cure A works for so many doesn't make it automatic it will work for me and maybe I need Cure B so to speak. I've just had numerous times where I've went to the GP or a specialist and whatever the original appointment is for turns into at least three more appointments and usually numerous prescriptions. It turns into a lot of money and a lot of time and frustration so if I can avoid going I will. Like I said, I get it, there aren't cure all fixes and healthcare is an extremely tough field. I've just lost a lot of trust and faith.
I'll say tho I'd trust any doctor over dentists. A special fuck you to that industry. They are worse on trying to up sell you than shitty car mechanics.
