Back when I played more often, it was basically the opposite. People leaving after 1 wipe in an EX fight and nerds raging if you didn't know 24 man mechanics hrs/ a day after release. Like if you weren't watching a guide on YouTube before doing anything, someone would throw a fit and complain that their purple dps is being wasted.

Savage and EX trials are less forgiving, more hardcore players are in that scene. Nobody is gonna be too upset if you mess up something in Normal mode. The salt and toxicity doesn’t hit anywhere near the levels it was in FFXI. This does mean less funny drama unfortunately. But overall better for everyone.

Then the party I was in kept wiping because he was cleaning his plate before people started figuring him out. They need to bring the original version back. He wasn't hard he was just punishing if you fucked up.
