Is there a competitive triple triad scene?

There is a data center wide tournament every other week, the top 20 get prizes, the top 6 get an exclusive card. It’s based on a point system and you can play against NPCs or other PCs in the triple triad battle hall. Victories against other PCs will grant more points and you can only play each person for points one time (to prevent point shaving).

There are also hosted tournaments every other hour with various rules at the gold saucer. You can register and will face off round robin style against 7 other opponents. If not enough real players join, NPCs will step in. You can actually do this solo if no one else joins. Placing in the top 3 will get you MGP and card packs.

And finally there are open tournaments that players can organize on their own. They play the same way as the hosted tournaments but players can set their own rules and deck options. There are NO PRIZES for this option, at least from the game, but some free companies will offer their own unofficial prizes.

Yoshi P says they are going to make adjustments to triple triad in update 5.5, he didn’t say anything definitive but said they wanted to make cards easier to obtain (from battles? From matches? Did not specify) and also looking at adjusting the rule that only allows player characters one four star or higher card per deck.

Hate to say that happens to me more times than I wanna admit. Funny part is I'll try to keep hate too until tank is back up.

Yep, do it on SAM once a month.
Pop Bloodbath, go HAM, blow that Meikyo Shisui.
Toss in a Feint, Third Eye, Merciful Eyes, and Second Wind, you got some decent staying power.
Tanks don't even have to be dead, if they're shitty, sometimes you just rip hate, "Look at me, I'm the tank now."

Bloodbath also works really well with the SAM AoE rotation, you just tend to get popped shortly after it wears off.

Provoke will shoot you to #1 on the enmity list no matter what kind of hot fire the dps are spittin’ so yes, this should never happen to any tank with half a brain but you’d be surprised

Welp. Got BRD to 80. Time to level a melee DPS until Sage gets released. That way I’ll have a level 80 for all of the job types.

Leaning towards MNK but damn. My pugilist is at level 4 at the moment lol.

SAM and DRG are more fun imo but MNK just recently had a rework so I’m not sure how it feels these days.

You do get more story with Estinien if you level DRG. But it’s weird cause like all the job quests up to level 50 are considered to be during ARR so you’ll “meet” him for the first time and it’s kinda funny if you’ve already done Heavensward.
