As far as Ishgard housing...good luck. Housing is insanely difficult to get. Most people bot the plots the moment they go on sale and even if they aren’t, you will be competing with untold number of real players spamming to secure a spot.

They also generally go up for sale when the servers come up after a patch. So you have to do a 3am camp.

And those chocobo dye items/food, can only be used at a stable.
But, there are public stables in the housing areas for people without a yard. Or if your FC has a house, they can put one up in the yard, they can chuck a plant in storage for a few days.
The only other way to get a variant chocobo is the black one from HW (which I'm not sure how to get since they put flying in ARR and removed the HW flight quest), or the amber draught one from the recruit a friend system.

I need to raise my money up so I can transfer to a medium. I've bought 3 small houses so far. First got lost because I went on a 4 week underway and never entered my house before leaving so my deed expired. Got a tip off on Reddit basically telling people when 40 days are coming up so people could look for expired houses. Managed to buy a second one. Got the third one when the houses in Kugane opened up by transferring and it honestly didn't take me much effort by waking up when the servers came back up.

SE should've given every land deed the capability to have a large house on it and just allow everyone the ability to built it up like in Animal Crossing. Then link private houses to a linkshell of your choice so anyone part of that linkshell can get rights to the house similar to the FC. Part of the housing content is basically walled off by having the FC requirement which I personally think is unnecessary.

The FC houses should be different and contained on their own separate instances.

Eventually she stopped playing and most of the FC either left or quit when it was clear she wasn’t returning. Eventually, it dropped to me as the oldest tenured FC member. I’m the only person that is active, there’s 2-3 other people that might log on a few times a month, but otherwise it’s just me in my nice furnished FC house built with simp money. I love it.
