Alright spam bros here to report on the FFXI raid in XIV. It’s fun as fuck. Lot of member berries from the dev team and jokes. Music is all straight from XI, no remixes. Boss battles are tight. Divine Might in XIV is pretty dope. 10/10 would recommend for a XI vet.

The raids and dungeon bosses are fun but the story is like a 3 out of 10 at best imo

DT suffers among the FFXIV populace because after 2 expansions of extreme glazing and sucking the players' balls clean, not being the center of attention caused severe brain damage. Not to mention, it exposed all the ShB babies that came and experienced a story in full and didn't need to wait a couple months for the continuation to get answers to what they keep thinking are plot holes when its obvious they'll get around to it eventually.

All that aside, there were still plenty of loose threads after EW, not to mention a portion of the enemies we were up against are still alive and now free to do their own plans. So I look forward to that and exploring what is left of the world map.

One thing I do have a problem with in XIV, though, is that the world feels very sanitized now. No overarching enemy or political drama, just some shit stirrers working behind the scenes. We solved a lot of the problems we faced throughout the years that it makes certain threats lose its teeth. Tempering? Solved. Border conflicts between beastmen and the City-states? Diplomacied. War between nations? Peaced. We Kumbayaed the the fuck out of everyone. We need to be handed a couple Ls here and there imo. We are definitely in setup territory now though.

You can play up to level 70 and up to the conclusion of the Stormblood expansion completely on the free trial if you wanna bother with making a new account. It might be the most ridiculous value for a free trial in all of gaming, like a free 150 hour JRPG
