Got a coworker talking to an employment lawyer about my company doing 10% pay cuts on us because they received a small business loan and supposedly if they want to keep the loan they aren't allowed to dock our pay from pre-pandemic levels and I'm like you go girl talk to that lawyer but I ain't gonna be the one to rock the boat and get retalliated on lol

that isn't accurate at all. its dependent on the amounts and percentage of subsidy they're receiving compared to their wage costs. if the subsidy they're receiving doesn't cover the wages the business is well within their rights to lower wages or lay employees off
