I'm honestly just waiting for my office to close for at least a few days at this point. The owner is a bit of a germaphobe as is.

Here's hoping tomorrow we're closed so our daughter goes to daycare while my wife works and I have no way to log in to our server. That way I can play vidya all day without guilt.

Apparently the office manager was telling the owner that he should shut down for at least a week to get the office deep cleaned. I'm gonna split the difference between 0 and 5, and round down, and say we get 2 days some time in the next two weeks.

I hurt my knee at work. I did this on January 6th, but because its workers comp, I didnt get an MRI til this past Thursday. On Friday, I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus. Now, today, elective surgeries are postponed. We get 120 days of light duty after an injury. After the 120, youre on short-term disability (i think? idk the term). Light duty, you get full pay, S-TD you get like 80%. So, I sit in a common area at work and play video games on my laptop or watch movies or whatever. I asked my manager today if I could stay home, dont need to get paid, but at least not have it count towards my 120 seeing as I'm not essential personnel anymore, what with all thats going on. He said you can stay home and not get paid but it still counts towards your 120 days.

Thats what I'm doing. I ended up coming in since it counts towards my 120. This place sucks.

Also, I wanted to stay home for a bit as a preventive measure, since, like I said, I work in EMS and can almost grantee at least 1 co-worked has Covid because its EMS

But since it would count towards my 120, I guess Covid me up for no reason

That 80% is tax free though. So depending on your withholdings, you may get paid more and not have to pay a dime to uncle sam and your state. Astylla was out for carpal tunnel surgery for almost 2 years due to insurance bullshit and having them approve a surgery then 2 weeks before surgery decide they weren't going to cover it as it couldn't possibly be work related, so we had to go get a lawyer, which then involved getting an independent review. Shit is fucking annoying.

What level it was right, as of today, I'm going to go with 4. It might change dramatically tomorrow when my trial contract either expires into nothingness or I will have a permanent position, at least for the time being. My boyfriend has been coughing since this weekend and I have joyfully joined him today.
I have horded wine and paracetamol, so we should be good.

My grocery store is significantly more barren today than Saturday. Makes sense I guess. Canned goods from beans to tomatoes of various varieties (sauce, crushed, diced) were mostly gone, except for soup. Why isn't anyone buying soup?
