Would you as a parent be mad if the only novels your HS kid read through the year were personal choice books?

'Cause the program I was gonna use for novels wasn't what I thought it was, and we only have physical class copies of books.

They don't have shit for HS regarding digital novels that aren't already open source books (ie. Shakespeare where you can get everywhere already.)

Only thing is ebooks from the library, but the library has only like 2-5 liscenses per ebook for borrowing. So really the kids would get to pick.

School starts in three weeks and I feel like I'm fucked.

Note: I have textbooks for teaching grammar/spelling/writing/short stories/etc. Novels usually are read while teaching other stuff.

You can’t buy used ebooks, so you’re looking at anywhere from $600-$1200 per class set of a book. It adds up. Book companies love schools for this, so you won’t find it cheap if you are being legal about it.

It's a problem for normal libraries as well. Publishers are using hellish digital license schemes to extort money out of libraries, or failing that, the poor digital offerings by staying in budget will sideline them into irrelevancy.

Yeah, if passed as written it's exactly the same except if you have dependent children older than 17 you still get $500 for them where you didn't in the first round.
