Its "scarier" cause if those cases didnt exist, you could just isolate all the travelers for 2 weeks and be done with this. Endemic community spread means the entire community has to participate otherwise no measures will work; itll just slowly spread from citizen to citizen over time without drastic measures (like now), or ignoring it mostly (like the common cold).

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if my household had it a week or two ago. Wifey was crazy ill for a few days. Son was puking and had diarrhea afterwards. I was basically incapacitated a whole day and was a zombie the next day after they were both fine. I had just chalked it up to food poisoning from some shitty pho place in DC.

This is every house with a cold/flu/stomach bug right now lmao but if you had it and showed any symptoms, youd know it wasnt normal from the stories we are hearing. You either have it and dont know, or have it and fuck this sucks I hate you all for not staying inside

to be fair tho, my point was more that the swine flu was in the 100 million range and this probably wont be. 500k. 5 million. it's still all in that range of a small percentage even if the death rate was 25%
