I'm still confused over the push-back to wear masks in public. Is there some kind of detriment to wearing them? Is it because we should save them for healthcare workers?

I'm not pushing back against masks. I'm saying the WHO AND the CDC originally made the same claim, and while there's no hard data saying they actively reduce the spread of the disease, despite a reduction in aerosol travel, people wearing them have a false sense of security involving them. They are also not really educated in how to use, clean and dispose them.

Some folks don't even wear their masks or stay the designated 6.5ft away from each other! But ya know... it won't be that bad right? 42k Coalition forces in country (military, contractors, govie civillians) and like 200 ventilators.

the logic being, it probably won't help, but it won't be worse. as you can see most of the masks are made out of t-shirts and scarfs and shit. The military knows it's fucked when that shit goes wild on base. it's gonna be fucking horrible. but i mean.... we should have been out of this fucking country in may of 2012...a year after we canou'ed ole' bin ladens forehead.
