What Xno said, except its up to 107k. So the first 107k you make overseas, and this includes places like Spain or Japan, is not included in your taxes. So I make 170k, and the government sees: married with a child ,family only made 63k. So I get like a 15-20k dollar refund.

You do have to meet some specific rules : to qualify there are two methods. Spend 330 days overseas in any consecutive time frame. Meaning like June 3rd to June 3rd you had to have spent 330 days, OR from Jan 1 to December 31st your permanent residence must be considered outside the US. While similar, one takes into account people who actually live outside America, but make America dollars, the other is mainly for contractors pulling year long tours to get that tax exempt

I have a friend who was a merc in I want to say Chechnya for about 2 years and brought in that contract money, immediately blew it all buying new cars and shit back home.

I guess he landed on his feet, he brings home $80-90k now as some kind of cop for the Treasury department and gets to live in Hawaii, but he absolutely burned through almost half a mil and has nothing to show for it anymore.

Not really, but getting students to actually attend is another thing. I'm sure they'll come up with all kinds of excuses like they couldn't connect to the service.

My niece is doing tele-schooling as well. She does not like it because you don't have any interaction with the rest of your class. At least not through whatever service the school may be using to host the classes.

since the move to online classes, the majority of my students have disappeared in general. don’t post in the discussion forum, don’t show up to zoom, have submitted no assignments. hearing from others this is pretty normal not just here but at a lot of colleges/universities.
