I can honestly say BD has the best combat in an MMO, and versus NPC's its awesome. VS. Othe players... results may vary. The network engine is tied to graphical performance, so if your rocking a 5k rig, and maxing out your settings your gonna register more frame inputs which translate to more network inputs. So that's always been a black mark, and on top of that there is noticeable lag even with top of the line hardware if your anything but southern west coast. Playing vs. Dudes in the same 'area as the servers' is a lose battle 8/10 times of equal geared players.

Speaking of gear, fuck BD random ass gear progression. Your best bet is to grind money, don't bother with upgrading anything beyond Tri, and just buy your tet/pen pieces off the AH. Your blood pressure will thank me.

Also your gonna want 5-6 characters AT A MINIMUM, for gathering, fishing, horse training, cooking, etc. Your right its a lot and if you don't know it's daunting as fuck, and I have no idea how the introduction quests function as they have changed them , I ahit you not, 20+ times I haven't a clue how things go.

Also...if your gonna play it.... your gonna wanna spend 500-1k$ on costumes, pets, inventory, weight upgrades, etc. I know that seems outrageous but the game slowly crept into full up P2W.

Combat is amazing though.
