missing out pal only finished about half the game, and not the better half.
People shit on the route B replay of automata but I loved it, and the payoff is huge.
I wonder if some people unfamiliar with the game’s quirks only did one playthrough and thought that was it.
A lot of reviewers didn't know about this initially and only reviewed Route A, despite the game telling you to continue, so perhaps they never made it to the end credits.
It's less jarring in automata but a little more jarring in Replicant. Both concepts are the same however and it really changes things, it's a really good concept/style!
Why more jarring in replicant?
Spoiler: show
How detrimental and in-depth is the leveling up/chipset/weapon leveling stuff? That RPG side of the game is what caught my eye and interested me most, I love that shit
Not very, but unless they adjusted it the grind for materials can be insufferable. For the "chips" in this game it's not as complex/deep, just stuff like Attack Power +10% etc, so it's quite similar already.
Although, there is gardening on top of fishing![]()
It's like automata, you get a few zones and establishments with NPCs and plenty of side quests/story. You'll feel right at home to be honest if you enjoyed automata (with many weapons to get, to level up, each with a story/text). You still have your "pod" with the equippable moves.
Remember that automata takes everything in this game and expands/improves on it. So going back a step here, the chip system in this game exists for weapons only, rather than your character. But instead of chips, you have words. I like to see it as a slot to equip enhancements at this point, but it's fairly elementary with enhancements like: Physical Str + N%, Armor Break +N%, Magic Power +N%, Exp +N%, Item Drops +N% etc
We can only hope that besides the gameplay shown off in the videos, that they improved on these systems as well!
There's every chance that this is improve/expanded upon of course, but we'll only see when the game comes out![]()
I am talking about Automata! Is Replicant even out yet????
lulz it is not, and Automata is light-to-moderate on RPG elements, but it is semi-open world and a good chunk of the side quests are dope af. re character building it is more akin to an action-RPG like God of War or Mass Effect than an expansive build-whatever-character-you-want like Skyrim. you can switch out weapons and get different setups going through your chip layout which are mostly stat % increase, but some offer novel abilities. you also gain experience and level up and all the rest.
ultimately the core gameplay was constructed by the Bayonetta folk and it shows (tho there is a lotttttt of deviation from that core gameplay). RPG elements won't wow anyone but they're fine. game is played primarily for the story.

Damn you guys in US
prepare to cry lesgooo
Yeah, definitely try to play in English if you can. It's pretty good from what I remember.
On top of stuff like that opening, it has some of my favorite English voice acting scenes in gaming. One of the boss fights late in the game always gives me chills.
With that said, it sounds like voice acting was redone for that intro. Is that going to be the case with the whole game? I haven't really been keeping up with the changes.
