The block button is available if you can't handle people having different opinions, why don't you use it to save yourself from looking like a lunatic.
He must have his gambits on,

You know when they first talked about expanding the story my first thought was "why are you wasting all this creative effort on a remake?" My biggest take away from having finnally played this is and reading this thread is "this is the best they could come up with?"
Umm so I really enjoyed the last part of the game and didn’t mind the ending at all. I’m just going to treat all of this as a sequel to advent children until proven otherwise. I’m most excited about Aerith possibly NOT dying and having an expanded party in future games with Aertith, Zack and maybe even Sephiroth all playable. I think it would be really cool if both zack and aerith become full time party members.
I loved and hated the battle system. Controlling the characters I grew up loving was an absolute joy and they all felt different. But the dumb ai was a real let down. They just sit around doing nothing. It could really use some type of gambit system or at least an option to use abt bars automatically.
Also there wasn’t enough fighting I hope the open world fixes that and we are able to just roam around and battle at our leisure. If they even do open world.
There was also a lot of filler like chasing the rat in the sewers, robot arms ect. Tbh this game could have been 20 hours and I don’t want to call it a game more like a really really good demo
I'm in the boat that Aerith will die but not at the same part of the game. Her death would likely be at the end when you ultimately realize her fate is to die and protect the planet. She'll fade off hand and hand with zach as they fade into dust. Seems like the most SE thing to do.
I've a feeling that this will also happen to some degree, the feeling when I completed the game is that while the main angle of the original story will play out there will come possible divergences that will make it different. To note as well it's been said that the reason her death in the original game is so impactful is because noone saw it coming, if this happens in the remake only new people or those who never played any other games would be impacted, for veterans it would be expected and expectations blunted hence the chance it could be changed or prevented, I noticed that there's possible changes that could occur I mean Bigg's actually survived at the end of this game when we thought he died, Wedge though hinted to have died, i seriously doubt because his "death" isnt shown not to mention he dodged two death flags (by the Power of cats i tell you, he discovered the secret method of warding off death flags!), and Jessie's glove and bandana are also shown at the end suggesting she actually survived in the end, There's that scene at the end too showing how Zack's "Last Stand" has been changed due to the final fight and he has managed to survive which mean's he now missing rather than dead. Gives a good hint that Aerith's ultimate fate could be changed where she at least survive's to the end of the trilogy rather than being killed midway through (back in the day there was even a petition to change this by the JP community such was the reaction from the community). Even Sephiroth's antic's suggest he's out to change his own end too.
TLDR: FF7R isn't a "remake" but a "sequel" where someone from the far future find a way of travelling back to the past or sending a message to their past selves to either attempt to change their fate or avoid some future event caused by something in the past and the need to change it. It's the original story with the same overarching plot but the nature of the journey ends up changing because of new elements coming into play. Wonder if they can pull this off successfully.
Honestly I enjoyed the game, there's certainly changes but I'll still look forward to seeing how the rest of the games play out. AI definately needs some improvements like at least building ATP at least.
I think no one at SE has any idea if she ultimately lives or dies, they've probably written both, and are seeing how reactions to this game play out before finalizing.

hopefully they've also written an alternate game that is good instead of bad
me too my friend
I can’t tell if people are trolling or legitimately excited about Nomura time traveling shenanigans.
It ultimately depends on execution: if done craptacularly we end up with a shit tier butcher job, if done expertly we end up with a masterpiece execution similar to "Legacy of Kain". It also a good way of not invalidating the original story with a remake when adding new thing's as it keeps lore from not just the original game but the other spinoffs and Crisis Core too. That said I think they will do a good job because this is FF7 were talking about, they wont screw up on something this big as it's the game that really put them on the map outside of Japan and to be fair the game was a good play myself. I also do believe this is going to end up like a sequel rather than a redone original because the game especially towards the end shows element's of significant change (ex: Sephiroth strolls past Palmer before the meeting in Shinra Tower meaning he blabs about it to everyone there and while nearly all ignore it, it gets the attention of Hojo and this changes how the sequence of events play out compared to the original entirely, in the original Palmer first see's him when he executes President Shinra who in this remake is still alive when the party reach him and is killed in front of them instead of them arriving after the deed is done) and in a way it's actually enjoyable because people who played the original are expecting things thing's to happen yet this give's an element of unknown to a "known" story.
