Not sure what was the worst part of FFXI. Being asked to come as Thf to a kings camp to sit for 99.9% of the fight, just to be added in last second to do a sneak attack/trick attack so TH2 would proc, or FFXI nerfing the ever loving shit out of Rangers because dragoon's cried that a party of them and one bard couldn't face roll exp parties.

They need to bring back stone skin in FF14.

It exists. Used to be a spell white mages could cast but it was removed from the game. White mage enemies can still use it. Players can use stone skin once again in Bozja with lost items.

I won't lie, getting those single-function ultra-niche items that would make your numbers .2% higher than someone else's numbers was pretty fucking awesome. I loved that part of things. An offline FFXI would need unlimited inventory spaces so I could cart around sets for every single spell and WS.

Although it would need some form of co-op because I'm remembering now that nailing the timing on all your self-buffs so that you hit your cap and absolutely nail that WS for face-melting damage in front of all your online friends was so damn sweet.

the best thing i had to look forward to in a group setting was if my para would proc half a dozen times in a row. aint nobody getting excited about maintaining the perfect refresh and haste cycle

para proc rate was based on mnd. sounds like some shit that would've driven me insane

horizontal gear progression was both a blessing and a curse for sure. on one hand both gear and content never really went obsolete at the 75 cap. on the other hand you carried a million items around with you for a 0.1% boost to your character

I feel that the midway option between WoW/XIV gear treadmill, and XI "capped for eight years", would be a tick-tock cadence.
Every other expansion, every 4 years, brings the iLVL up with a tick. While the other expansions give variety with the tocks.

XI is back there now. Been 119 for what feels like forever, but they keep adding content at higher ilvl's, and new 119 gear that clearly stronger than old 119 gear.
