Just realized I bought a bottle of zinc that's 50mg but looked it up to be told taking 50mg of zinc consistenly isn't a good idea without a doctor's recommendation. Why do they sell so many of these vitamins above the recommended daily dosage over-the-counter?

I forgot the name of it but there was a great documentary about this. It’s nuts how completely unregulated it was and I had no idea it’s one of the biggest hustles coming out of Utah.

It was something like all you have to add is “special blend” to the ingredients and you can pretty much put whatever the fuck you want in it.

Also as long as you don't claim it treats or cures anything. It's pretty fucking stupid how successful the supplement industry is.
