if you haven’t, you should read/see Measure for Measure. it’s my favorite of his less famous plays (it’s probably my second or third favorite overall after lear and maybe macbeth, depending on mood)

it’s considered a “problem play” because it doesn’t really fit the standard convention of comedy or tragedy, and it’s a pretty interesting story about abuse of power/religious vs. legal authority

and it has possibly my favorite quote from bill shakes

but yeah nah i haven't, it'll go on the list. on a Shakespeare kick atm made it through the Henriad, Othello, Hamlet, Lear and the sonnets so far this year. made a terrible mistake deviating from sadness.

I ass. stage managed the play in college.

You really either end up hating or loving a play after having to read it over and over and over night after night after night just to hit a button at the right time to let people on stage.

Angels in America became the worst play I ever read because of working on the show.

actually the winters tale is ok, but only because dude gets eaten by a bear

I remember there's some scene in a cafe that goes on forever, and the SM used to just sit on headset and tell the ASM theater horror stories while waiting for the scene to finish because literally nothing happened.

Only story I remember was her working on a show that involved people eating a cake at the end.

To save money they kept reusing the same cake, but just the slice upstage was new each time so the actor would "cut" into the cake and pull that one out.

But the rest of the cake got full on gross after awhile.

I wouldn't. It aged poorly.

It's basically Rent but without music and 4 hours long. And I know you don't like musicals so that would be a bonus. But no one cares about AIDs anymore.

That's also the play I worked on where that actor dude is a fucking creep as shit.

The guy that did some bit parts for the Chappelle show.

Saw Measure for Measure in my high school years at the Ahmanson Theater in LA. I don't think our theater teacher (also a priest) would have taken us if he had known there were naked women in the production. Not sure who it was more awkward for: the guys (went to all guys Catholic school lol) or the girls (from the all girls Catholic school on the other side of town) or the priest and brother who were the chaperones.

we went to NYC in college, it was a big deal for us dumb rednecks that had barely left the state, we went to see Rent and left during intermission it was bad and gay also

the full monty while also gay was entertaining, and blue man group was the coolest thing i saw there, and all the art museums they were ok i guess

One of my favorite tropes right now is when a conservative on Twitter calls out Biden to a lib and the lib is like "Bitch I don't like him either!" taking all the wind out of the poor guy.
