i'm all for distrusting the federal government but using Tuskegee or anything else to believe in vaccine conspiracy is fundamentally irrational. Tuskegee was an evil, the healthcare system can still be racially biased, minorities still get worse outcomes when in said system, this is all true, and this has fuck all to do with a public and voluntary vaccine that our leaders and elites are rushing to take themselves. if grandma can't trust anything else she can trust in their self-interest. indeed this vaccination campaign is one of the few times the healthcare system is behaving totally egalitarian and sans the prejudice that often mars it.

Tbh I'd say the older generation has a valid excuse for it even if you don't think it's irrational. Most fears are irrational. I wouldn't argue with my grandmothers/grandfather because the shit that they dealt with and witnessed was comparable to a warzone with an occupying force. That's really something you gotta accept and let go because you're not gonna convince those folks and I understand where they're coming from. Tuskegee is just one example.

The younger people, our generation and younger, tend to parrot shit that they heard without doing the research. That's the shit I'm not really with. I don't trust the government and I was literally government property. However I rationalized it as they gave me over a dozen shots. Wtf is one more gonna do to me at this point?

FF9's story feels like a better executed/realized FF4.

Chocobo Hot/Cold is awful, just like the FFX Chocobo racing game you need for Tidus' weapon in FF10.

Yeah I was doing FF10 HD a few years back and stopped when I got to the ultimate weapon quests.

Ultimate weapon quests weren't so bad in X. Definitely became the last of the "oh so you want awesome weapon better jump through hoops" tropes on the non MMO games.

Like I'm a completionist, but when it comes to single player content there's a limit on the ridiculousness of the hoops I will jump through for the benefit of getting to beat down on the AI better. And a sufficiently bad hoop may dissuade me from finishing the game at all.

Now if the actual goal of the game was a competition between players to jump better than each other, that's a different story.

when i replayed a couple months ago i did all the weapons except lulu. got to 60 something jumps, screwed up, then said “whatever magic sucks in monster arena anyway”

Where I worked when I've been stationed on boats (I've so far spent all my time at underway units on only the one platform, which is sadly now entirely decommissioned), the landing platform for the helo was like 5 feet above my head.

Freaked the hell out of my most of my coworkers and they would never hang out in there, but I always liked it since it meant no was gonna fucking bother me in there since they secured the entire back half of the boat during helo ops.

There's an area where you can get a consistent pattern for the lightning jumps. That's how I did it when I unlocked everyone's ultimate weapon.
