maybe it is in some way better done than the ff2 system, because the ff2 system is widely regarded as absolute trash

you want your characters hp to go up? ok. let the monsters hit you until your hp drops to 40%, and then “maybe” it will go up
you then need to heal your characters before the next fight, and go again
when i played I resorted to just attacking my own characters which was just awful
Ah yeah in Sorcerer's Kingdom it was based on a set formula of number of [x] = [y] stat increase. There's a forest early on where the enemies constantly respawn every time you leave and re-enter until you kill the boss, so I would just farm them to buy the strongest armor right off the bat and then let them whale on me for 0 damage over and over while just defending every turn. Eventually I would end the fight and get like 20 HP/DEF increases at once, and I would continue until I could get hit for 0 without armor on.

Yeah, 2 was a solid story but the combat system absolutely fucking blew. I was maybe 3hrs in and the person I was using a white mage would absolutely get 1 shot by any mob cause I could never get her hit to raise her HP. For 3, play the DS remake, not the NES version so you have an actual story. It's a slog though at the end. Think the last dungeon is something like an hourish long with ZERO save points.
Five was good, though I'm a horrible heathen and played it on IOS. The story is your typical fantasy tropes, but it basically opened up the job system for Final Fantasy games. Expect to grind though if you want to do the three optional fights and not be obliterated.
2 had the annoying habit of having a rotating 4th character that always joined fresh so you constantly had one character lagging behind level and skill wise. Shit was maddening. I don't know if that was fixed in a specific version but that's what I remember from the DS version (or GBA?)
I've played 3 and 5 and always give up because the grind gets so tedious.

5 wasn't too bad unless you were trying to max every job. A few combo's though were absolutely broken. Mystic/Ninja was absolutely necessary for everyone though for Omega Weapon fight and was stupidly broken.
Disney gonna have to retire Ursula when Pat Carroll dies.
I don't think they'll every find someone who could repeat that laugh.
They'll just come out with Sea Witch, a movie about a misunderstood merlady who is tricked into becoming an octopus in exchange for the chance to save the future daughter of the sea king.
Worse than Mulan 2?
From what I saw of Once Upon a Time, every Disney villain was actually either Rumplestiltskin or the Wicked Queen.

I stopped watching at the end of the following season because the reveal was Elsa entering the show, and I hadn't seen Frozen so I decided to wait until I had. Then I didn't watch Frozen for like 5 or 6 years after that and by then I had stopped caring.
