It occurred to me that most gamers are pretty normal, albeit a little introverted at times. But there’s that small group of gamers who let their lives go to complete shit in order to play more. Rooms full of beer bottles and pizza boxes. Probably shit stains in the bathroom they don’t have time to clean. Kids malnourished and taken away due to neglect.

Considering this is a gaming forum, there might be 1, 2 or more bg posters who fit this criteria. Who do you think they are?

I don’t think it’s a gamer thing, but that people who are like that tend to gravitate towards gaming, drugs, alcohol, etc. because they are escapists hobbies. I think it’s safe to say most of us know how addicting gaming can be, but that most of us didn’t take it to that extreme.

Possibly. I don’t know if that level of addiction causes you to interact more or less with others who play the same games. I can’t picture being like that so I don’t know how that type of mindset works.

i definitely have strong tendencies in that direction, but i'm aware of them so i take steps to mitigate the detrimental effects. garbage can within arm's reach of computer, etc.

i tend to use vidya to de-stress and distract from feeling overwhelmed by my obligations/responsibilities, both of which exacerbate/are exacerbated by my crohn's, so it's been a difficult balancing act to stay on top of it enough to keep my grades up. but i'm fuckin doin it. straight As so far.

I don't think I ever sent out the thank you cards, tbh.

I am terrible.

But many weddings are draining as fuck. Glad we did it, obviously, but I think after the honeymoon I was ready to be onto the next thing.


I mean, tbh, I am hella spotty about sending out shit in general. I have had 2-3 years where we took Xmas card photos, even got them all printed out, then never got around to sending them.

I am going to do some kind of digital thing this year, because fuck mass mailing shit in the year of our satan 2020.

yeah, virtual stuff is the way to go. i've got a dropbox link set up and everything so people can download pictures and shit.... but i gotta send the cards so they know what it is, cos half of them don't do tech stuff... and the same half is the half that likes getting shit in the mail.

We sent out thank you cards they were super easy through the site we used for the invitations as well. The honeymoon was great until the terrorist attack in Nice, would do it again. It's #1 on my list of where I want to retire to.
