This thing where professional athletes snub their professional event because they don't want to talk to the press is really weird and short sighted imo. Next time one of em wanna speak up I should just be like "shut up and play tennis".

Pay to sponsor me and watch me play tennis, but don't y'all dare try to talk to me before or afterwards about it . If it makes you anxious I understand, but that's also not an excuse to do the other half of your job. At a certain level, you're not just a great athlete, you're also selling the sport and brand (both the sports brand and your own). Get some press counseling like all the other big wigs get.
