Post RoS I think I'd agree with this. I for sure have played D3 more then D2. It's just a different game and not what the hardcores wanted (there's always PoE or Grim Dawn for that)

Even at launch, it was far from cartoony, it just wasn't "gothic". If you mean the animation was a bit extreme and over the top, sure. The graphics themselves were just fine, they certainly looked better than D2 sprites.

I should stress again that D2 is a great game, I just think D3 is better. They are entirely two different types of games.

the issue i had with d3 was that you were required to play the cookie cutter builds a lot more at the end game than in d2. super wacky builds just weren't really a thing like in d2. also the gear was way more boring. it was missing all kinds of stats you saw in d2 like crushing blow, negative enemy resistance, open wounds, etc... i just dont understand why you'd take things out of the previous game that people enjoyed. you should be adding. pumping your strength up to whatever just isn't as interesting as being able to create builds that don't even function unless you have very specific d2 gear
