i am so happy D2 is featuring now

I could write more of a post but for now let's just say D3 definitely came up short of several beloved aspects of D2

D3 nine years later is far more played and more successful than D2. it's on many platforms and has had more iterations of improvement. most players are mostly pleased with it

however a slice of D2 players will not find the same level of satisfaction with D3. it never got the loot hunt right and was clearly not the same gameplay loop at endgame. of course it also wasn't created by the same team or people or with the same design considerations sooo yeah

I did play Record of the Lodoss War for Dreamcast, that's a particularly good Diablo clone.

Nah, that was awesome but it's biggest problem was lack of library and mediocre third party titles.

We've all lamented the lack of a Chrono Trigger sequel but honestly what could ever live up to the original, maybe we're blessed to have one perfect entry.

I think CT would be awesome to get the FFVII makeover treatment without needing too much altering.

Chronic Cross should also get a remake, too, but I think more would need to be tweaked there.



There’s also always room for more time travel to different eras, so they really could have turned it into a mainline series.

That reminds me, there was a technical sequel on the SNES with Kid as the main character. It was like a choose your own adventure novel.

So they could also take that one and turn it into a real rpg game.

That's basically Chrono Cross. The bones of Radical Dreamers (the SNES satellite game) were what it was built on.

Edit:

My worry with this, is since it's Toriyama art, they'd make it look like Dragon Quest XI. DO NOT WANT.
