You can't really pinpoint in many ways because Egypt was a melting pot. It's very likely my family goes back to ancient Egypt. My full-cousins don't look Middle Eastern to me. Their skin-tone has more of a Greek-olive look. One of these days I'll get one of those DNA tests to see what it says.

FWIW the US classifies Egyptians as white, and Egyptians classify themselves as white.

the US is a silly place and classifies all Latinos as white as well, and being one i'm all too familiar with off-white people claiming white status because they've been inculcated with the belief dark = bad from a young age.

but yeah nah fair enough you being half-Irish and carrying it i feel you. i'm mixed myself and classification becomes difficult in those circumstances. i've had people tell me i'm both not white and not Hispanic at varying points. apparently i do not exist.

Yeah but because Hispanic is not a race but some other identification, you can mark any race and Hispanic. And no shame, I've done that (due to to 1/4th ethnic conquistador background) if I felt it would be advantageous.

Deployable early or mid game for construction and agricultural boosts but reduced loyalty per population, adds lots of strife and anarchy to your mid or late game, riots as a disaster.

Back in Civ 4, you could rush a building with slavery by sacrificing half of a city's population. I rushed a wonder once in my capital city going from a pop of 15 to 7. Lost that game but it did satisfy my curiosity.

Stellaris has slavery on a galactic scale. Plus straight up designating species as livestock to feed your empire, even play styles that are labeled genocidal. Like hive minds that devour conquered pops, robot empires that assimilate, or robots or xenophobes that hate all other biological species that they straight up cull anything not a robot/not the home species.
