I should probably listen to Death Cab for Cutie albums after plans sometime. My big issue is a lot of bands I was big on released music I just never caught up with. I don't spend as much money as I used to on CDs and comics, and the way I consume music has changed.

This is a thing for me.

Books, Film/Television, Comics/Manga, Video Games: When I find a creator/studio that makes something I like, I'll track down their entire oeuvre for more.

One of the funny things about people who argue that low/minimum wage jobs are meant for high schoolers is when you roll up to these places at 7am or 2pm or after 10pm on a Wednesday, who is gonna be taking your order? The kid going to English or Math. Or the one going to sleep for school in the morning?

I love plenty of new stuff. Avatar, Ghost, Badflower, Ice Nine Kills, Alien Weaponry, Starset all just off the top of my head.

Some older bands do get stale though. As someone else mentioned, Metallica went through a phase that started with a slow, gradual decline that cultivated in Saint Anger, probably the worst album they ever put out (not counting that collaboration with Lou Reed that was barf), Three Days Grace hasn't been the same since Adam Gontier quit the band to form Saint Asonia, so on and so on.

Though, shockingly enough, Adema is still putting out new music and just dropped a new single three weeks ago.

Though since we are on the topic of bad hot takes, I absolutely loathe Radiohead. Not sure if it was the constant blaring of Creep when it came out, but I absolutely hate them. One of the few bands I outright loathe.

There is plenty of new, good music. In fact, it's been posted in the spam music thread. Saying we don't listen/like new artists, when you have been in that thread to post as well, is just you trying to stir the pot.

Bands peak, musical tastes change, people aren't going to like everything one artist/band/group puts out for eternity.
